AVI ReComp can be used to manipulate AVI files in many useful ways.
The program can compress videos using the XviD codec in most cases, thereby reducing their size. The program will also remove less popular encoding options, which can reduce the file's compatibility. AVI ReComp is a great way to get rid of problematic files from a DVD player.
You also have the option to enhance AVI files by either adding subtitles or replacing existing subtitles. TMPlayer, MicroDVD (.txt /.sub), SubViewer2 /.sub), SubRip /.srt), Advanced SubStation Alpha /.ass, SubStation Alpha /.ssa and VobSub /.idx are all supported formats.
Watermarking tools allow you to add images and logos to files. You can also define position, duration and fade in/out time.
Also, you can crop, resize, and convert movies to various formats (AC3-MP3, MP3-MP3, MP3–MP3, or convert sample rates, adjust volume or modify the sound quality with the VBR, CBR or ABR options).
Batch encoding allows you to create a folder with many files quickly, and then leave AVI ReComp alone to complete the task.

AVI ReComp's interface is cluttered and difficult to use. However, the sheer number of options for video editing makes it worth a glance.
